The Kogarashi collection arrives in its fullest form here seven bold, stone-washed blades and tools housed in a striking two-tone white oak block, each piece carrying the same rugged white oak and red G10 handle that gives the set real presence on the counter.

From the wide chef's knife and santoku to the serrated bread knife and fine paring blade, every task has its dedicated tool, sharp and ready.

Forged from custom 67-layer Damascus steel hardened to 60±2 HRC, this eight-piece set brings together the chef's knife, bread knife, and utility knife for a well-rounded kitchen lineup covering everyday cutting, bread slicing, and finer prep, with the santoku and paring knives handling vegetables and detail work.

Kitchen shears and a sharpening rod round it out as functional additions for poultry cutting and blade upkeep, all presented in the fitted white oak block.

Our Story

A craft passed down, blade after blade

Each Meito knife is handcrafted by artisan blacksmiths who carry forward ancestral forging techniques, passed down from generation to generation.

The metal is heated, hammered, and refined with patience until it reaches the perfect balance of sharpness, durability, and elegance. This isn't mass production; it's an artisanal heritage, shaped to last a lifetime in your kitchen.

Every blade is one of a kind, shaped by hand for you and only you.

Kogarashi - 8-Piece Knife Block Set 67-Layer Damascus

The craftsmanship really does justify the price. Hand finished edges, hand fitted handles, and a level of care you do not get from factory made steel. It feels like buying from a person rather than a corporation.

Lovely weight. Not heavy, not flimsy, exactly right.

Cut myself on day one out of pure carelessness. Entirely my fault, and honestly a compliment to the edges.

Kogarashi - 8-Piece Knife Block Set 67-Layer Damascus

This has genuinely made me enjoy cooking again after years of finding it tedious. When the tools work properly the whole process changes, everything is quicker, cleaner and more satisfying, and you stop dreading the prep. Beautifully made, sharp beyond expectation, and packaged with real care.

Very impressed with the edge retention. Weeks of heavy use, still keen.

The handle finish is lovely, smooth and warm, and none of them have swelled or cracked despite regular washing. Good materials properly treated.

Frequently asked questions

Do I really need all the knives in this set?

keyboard_arrow_down
add remove

Most home cooks reach for two or three blades daily, and the rest earn their place the moment you need them; filleting a fish, breaking down a whole chicken, precision work on herbs. Whatever the size of the set, it works out cheaper than buying the same knives individually, and everything arrives matched.

Which set size should I choose?

keyboard_arrow_down
add remove

It comes down to how you cook. A smaller set covers everyday prep and suits most kitchens without taking up counter space. Larger sets make sense if you cook often, handle whole cuts of meat or fish, or want a complete setup you won't need to add to later.

Either way, you can always expand afterwards; every knife in our sets is also sold individually.

How often should I sharpen my knives, and how?

keyboard_arrow_down
add remove

With regular home use, honing with a ceramic rod every few weeks keeps the edge aligned, and a full sharpening every 6 to 12 months restores it completely. A whetstone at around 1000/3000 grit is the best option for maintaining the fine edge these blades are known for.

Are these knives suitable for beginners or only for professional chefs?

keyboard_arrow_down
add remove

They're designed for both. The balance and lightweight feel make them comfortable for home cooks, while the edge retention and precision are what professionals look for. If you're new to high-quality knives, the main adjustment is learning to let the blade do the work instead of applying pressure.

Does it come in packaging suitable for a gift?

keyboard_arrow_down
add remove

Yes. Each knife ships in a protective presentation box, so it's ready to give as-is without needing any extra wrapping. It's a common choice for weddings, housewarmings, and anyone getting serious about cooking.

What if I'm not satisfied with my knife?

You're covered by a 30-day risk-free trial. Use it, cook with it, and if it's not right for you, send it back for a full refund. The knife is also backed by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
